Oceanview on Coconut Coast

We loved our stay here! The Kapa’a / Wailua area is perfectly centered between the north shore and the south shore, so this spot gives prime access to the whole island. It’s also not far from the airport and the few scattered big box stores on the island. The Coconut Marketplace next door is a delightful open air shopping area with an ABC market, gift shops, and our fave Jojo’s Shave Ice. Mellow island vibe here. The condo itself is in a complex with pools and landscaping very well maintained by the hoa. And somehow the chickens stay away! The unit isn’t brand new, but is well maintained aside from perhaps the screen doors. There are beach chairs, an umbrella, and a cooler, and snacks and water bottles to greet you. From the lanai the ocean can be seen across a grassy open space with trails for beach access. Be advised that this stretch of coast is often rocky with steep sand ledges leading down to the water, so swimming is limited, especially if there is a southeast swell or wind. The resorts just north and south have lounge chairs above the beach perfect for relaxing and ocean watching. I recommend sitting until dark to watch the shearwaters come in to their nest holes along the bluff (they are like gulls or terns). Anyway, book this place and enjoy Kaua’i! Aloha
